VFW Post 12055 recently earned national recognition, taking home all-American honors during the VFW National Convention in St. Louis.

At the convention, Post Comm. Dave Dailey accepted an all-American streamer for the post flag, a certificate of appreciation and an all-American VFW hat.

To receive all-American honors, the post must make all-state requirements and rank in the top 25 in its membership division; Post 12055 ranks No. 12 nationally in its division.

“The best thing about our little post is we do not have a building or canteen, so 100% of the money we raise goes to our programs and community,” Dailey says. “We want to make a difference in our community and help our fellow comrades.”

The post meets at 7 p.m. the third Wednesday of each month at the American Red Cross, 10311 Malachite Drive, Lakewood Ranch.
