ODA wins preseason opener

The Out-of-Door Academy defeated Southeast 25-20, 25-8, 28-26 in its preseason opener Aug. 19.

Senior Natalie Buffett led the way for the Lady Thunder with 10 kills, four aces and seven digs. Seniors Taylor Albano, Charlotte Dixon and Cameron Graham added three aces a piece. ODA finished with 15 aces.

“I feel good about where we are as a team right now,” first-year head coach Stefanie Betz says. “There is plenty left to be done and to learn, but the girls are working hard and are going to keep improving with the right attitude and effort.”

ODA returns to action at 6 p.m. tonight, at Lakewood Ranch.
