Humane Society searches for pet models

Calling all four-legged models! The Humane Society of Sarasota County will be accepting entries for its 3rd annual “The Real HousePets of Sarasota County” Pet Calendar and Photo Contest.

The winner will be featured on the cover of the 2015 calendar and each of the top 12 finalists will be showcased as a pet of the month.

Submissions should be of just pets and don't need to be professional. Humane Society Executive Director Kristi Dorman says some of the best photos are “cute, fun pictures taken at home.”

All proceeds from submissions and the calendar, which will be available to purchase in November, benefit the Humane Society.

“It’s a fantastic and fun way to show off your pet while raising much needed funds for shelter pets in need,” says Dorman.

“People from all over the country can support you, your pet and the shelter at the same time.”

Early registration is open now through Oct. 10 with voting taking place from Sept.8 to Oct. 10. For more information, go to hssc.org/2015-calendar-contest.
