WEEKEND BEST BET: Sarasota Holiday Boat Parade

Grab your beach chair this weekend for the parade where the floats actually float on by for the Sarasota Holiday Boat Parade of Lights. The 29th annual parade will be lighting up the bay front on Saturday, Dec. 13 starting at 6 p.m.

The route for the parade has been expanded this year to include the southwest end of Bayfront Park.

Boats and floats will be visible from parks that border the bay including Bayfront Park, City Island and Centennial Park with a VIP viewing area at Marina Jack Restaurant. Watch the jolly man himself, Santa Claus, cruise into the parade in true Southwest Florida style.
