Shamrock Guest Bar Tending — takes place at 9 p.m. at Shamrock Pub. Chris and Kristi Flannagan get behind the bar in this regular guest bar tending series to raise money for children's music programs. Theme is pin-up, and the night will feature a Guitar Hero competition. Free. Tips encouraged.

The Beer Mile— takes place at 3 p.m. at Mr. Beery's. Chug a beer, run a quarter-mile. Repeat until you've ran a mile. Oh, and try not to throw up. This beer mile event is holiday themed, so wear your favorite Christmas get-up. Participants get four beers for the race, a post-race beer and a shirt. $20.
Holiday Boat Parade of Lights— takes place at 6:15 p.m. at the Sarasota Bayfront. Watch decked-out boats in this 29th annual holiday event. Great for the family. Free.
