The Observer is collecting holiday stories that center around a great holiday memory or a holiday mishaps for our Dec. 25 issue.

We want you to share your favorite holiday memory or mishap in about 300 words or less. Just email us your memory and also include a photo of yourself and/or a photo of your memory, if you have one.

Examples of memories would be: holiday traditions you do with your family each year; the best present you’ve ever received; what is special about the holidays for you, etc.

Examples of mishaps would be: The year your dog ate all the homemade ornaments off your Christmas tree (that’s one of our editor’s); the year the entire holiday meal went up in flames and you had to order pizza; etc. Think Clark W. Griswold in "Christmas Vacation."

Please send in your memories/mishaps by Dec. 18, to [email protected]. Please write "holiday memories" in the subject line.

Thanks, and happy holidays!
