Longboat Key resident Bernie Ditchik celebrated his 90th birthday Jan. 28 on the tennis courts of the Players Club with friends Manfred Welfonder, Mike Tighe and Marty Hauselman.

He sported a T-shirt that featured a picture of himself and his double off the courts: his twin brother, Charlie, and the words, “Made in 1924: built to last.” Ditchik drove to Florida’s East Coast over the weekend for a joint birthday celebration with his brother.
