+ Younger: Think you ‘cancan’ dance?
In the 1980s, Commissioner Phill Younger and his wife, Fanny, spotted a cabaret restaurant while roaming the foothills of Nice, France, with a memorable moniker: Chez Fanny. They vowed to return.
They made plans to return Christmas Eve four years ago but found it was closed, despite assurances it would be open.

But, the third time was the charm for the Youngers last Christmas. Despite arriving 30 minutes after the show’s start time, the restaurant delayed the start until the couple arrived.

The show allowed the commissioner to add a new title to his resume: cancan dancer. Or, as Fanny Younger described in an email to the Longboat Observer, “can’t can’t” dancer.
