Classroom Spotlight: Second-graders compare ODA's past and present

The Out of Door Academy’s lower-school students are using the past to prepare for the future. Second-grade teachers Sean McDonald and Jill Jaiswal have been teaching students how to put together a presentation using Microsoft PowerPoint with the help of IT teacher Sandy Elliott.

Each student or pair of students is comparing old photos of the school with new photos that they are taking to create a scrapbook using the PowerPoint slides.

“We tried to come up with a project that allows the kids to use their computer skills creatively,” says McDonald.

The scrapbooks will be published in time to present during the school’s Grandfriends Day program Feb. 21.
