Sarasota Association of Realtors membership continues to grow

The Sarasota Association of Realtors added 48 new members to its ranks in Februrary, highlighting an ongoing trend in Realtors lured back to Sarasota County by rising home values and the area's recovering real estate market.

The addition of 48 new realtors in one month puts the group on track to outpace last year's total volume of new members, which was a 9% jump from 2012. At this point in 2014, SAR is on pace to exceed 500 new members in one year, which would put the group's membership back near the level it was at in 2007, before the housing market collapse that spurred the great recession.

SAR currently has 3,698 members, compared with 3,946 members in 2007. The group's membership base dropped to 3,223 in 2010 at the height of the economic downturn.
