The Manatee County School Board will vote today on a contract to sell a 10-acre undeveloped parcel of land at Braden River High School.

Blackrock Development Holdings, LLC has offered $2,950,000 for the land, located at the northeast intersection of Caruso Road and State Road 70, plus another 1.64 acre parcel at the old Bayshore High School.

The contract, to be discussed at the 5:45 p.m. school board meeting today at 215 Manatee Avenue W., would be for Blackrock to buy both of those properties.

Manatee County School District finance staff says it needs the money from the property sales to balance its 2013-14 fiscal year budget.

Upon approval of the contract, Blackrock would have a 60-day due diligence period. The buyer would close on the property no later than 30 days after the due diligence period ends.
