Representatives of Harvest United Methodist Church in Lakewood Ranch recently donated more than $17,000 to Manatee County’s Take Stock in Children program.

The Revs. Steve Price and Catherine Fluck Price presented the donation to Take Stock Executive Director Diana Dill and Take Stock board members Michael Corley and Mark Arnold.

The gift will sponsor two students graduating from fifth grade at Samoset Elementary school to join the Take Stock in Children college scholarship and mentoring program. Each child selected will receive a mentor for grades six through 12, college and career planning, student advocacy services and a four-year college scholarship upon graduating high school.
