The Manatee County School Board approved a property sale for a 10-acre undeveloped parcel of land at Braden River High School.
At its Tuesday night meeting, the school board approved the sale, for land located at the northeast intersection of Caruso Road and State Road 70, to Blackrock Development Holdings with a 3-1 vote.
In the terms of the $2.95 million contract, Blackrock also purchased a 1.64 acre parcel at the old Bayshore High School.
Manatee County School District finance staff says it needs the money from the property sale to balance its 2013-14 fiscal year budget.
With the contract agreed to, Blackrock has a 60-day due diligence period. The buyer will close on the property no later than 30 days after the due diligence period ends.
