Tito’s Handmade Vodka held on to beat Regent 8-7 in overtime of the USPA Wayne Brown Finals hosted by the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Feb. 16 at the Sarasota Polo Club.

Tito’s scored three goals in the sixth chukker to tie the game at 7-7 at the end of regulation before Joe Wayne Barry knocked in the game-winning goal in overtime.

Steve Krueger scored five goals to lead the way for Tito’s.

Gonzalo Teves scored three goals to lead the way for Regent.

James P. Uihlein was named the Most Valuable Player. Teves received the Best Playing Pony award for his mare Bay’s performance in the fifth chukker.

Teams return to action at 1 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Suncoast Porsche Cup, which will feature a Porsche parade at halftime.

spectators are invited to go onto the playing field to replace pieces of turf that have been dug up by the horses.
