Man charged with strip club death

The Sarasota County Sheriff's Office has charged a Bradenton man with manslaughter for a deadly confrontation at a Sarasota strip club early Sunday, according to a report from the agency.

The Sheriff’s Office arrested and charged Brad T. Stanford, 32, with manslaughter, according to a statement.

A Sheriff’s Office report states that about 12:17 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to the Cheetah Lounge, 3939 N. Washington Blvd., after receiving reports of a fight there. Once on scene, deputies discovered a man who was unresponsive and not breathing. Deputies and later paramedics unsuccessfully attempted to revive the victim, who was pronounced dead.

The Sheriff’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name.

The Sheriff’s Office is holding Stanford without bond at the Sarasota County jail, and the investigation is ongoing.
