Members of Harvest United Church worked to stop hunger Feb. 23 during an interactive meal-packing party at the church.
The organization packed nearly 40,000 meals to support Stop Hunger Now’s world-wide work, which includes ongoing hunger relief operations in the Philippines.
On Sunday, Harvest also donated $17,227 — half of its 2013 Christmas Eve offering — to Stop Hunger Now that day.
The packing party was part of the Florida Conference of United Methodist Church’s “A Million Reasons” campaign, a yearlong mission to pack 1 million meals to fight hunger.
