+ Lakewood Ranch developer expands to Naples
Kjims Development Co. LLC, with a specialty in luxury homebuilding and multifamily projects in Lakewood Ranch and Siesta Key, has acquired Bonita Springs-based Mac Contractors.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Lakewood Ranch-based Kjims will now take on projects in Marco Island and Naples, in addition to Manatee and Sarasota counties.

“We are going to be looking for ways to do things better and different,” Mac Contractors founder Jon MacDonough said in an interview with the Business Observer. “We want to serve our customers better than typical builders.”

MacDonough, who will oversee the firm’s expansion into new markets, according to a press release, founded the firm in 2000. It works mostly in the luxury homebuilding and renovation market in Naples and Marco Island. The firm, says MacDonough, also grew a business line in remediation work during the downturn. It had about $5 million in annual sales and 35 employees at its peak.

Kawaljit “Tony” Singh founded Kjims Development. “

“This was an important step in positioning our company to provide a vertically integrated suite of services with improved communications, quality control and budget analysis our clients can directly benefit from,” Singh says in the release.

UNIVERSITY PARK OPENS NEW MODEL
Builder John Neal Homes unveiled its new The Savoy model in University Park — the first model to open in the community in seven years — this weekend.

The Savoy, which features a neoclassical design with 2,547 square feet, three bedrooms, two baths, one half-bath, a grand entry and a den, is located in University Park’s Landsdowne Crescent neighborhood.

“The timing could not be better for this new neighborhood,” said Randy Turkovics, president of building for John Neal Homes. “With its central location, beautiful backdrop and the plentiful amenities at University Park, we are confident that the 19 homes inside Landsdowne Crescent will sell out quickly,” he said.
The Savoy is located on the third hole of the University Park golf course.
