In the 31 years that Pam Hagan has worked on the Key, she has earned the nickname “Miss Waterfront.”
She began her career with Arvida in 1981 doing timeshare sales on Lido Key, then moved to the company’s Longboat Key office in 1983. She became a licensed broker in 1985 and has worked for various companies on the Key.
On Dec. 1, Hagan opened her own brokerage firm, Waterfront 7 Realty, in Mediterranean Plaza. It’s an independent brokerage that aims to offer boutique services and deal directly with owners and agents.
Currently, the firm has five agents and a sixth agent who is in the process of earning her license. Pat Benak is director of operations.
“We’re not going to try to be a big firm,” Hagan said. “We’re going to be the best at what we do, not the biggest.”
Hagan said one of her taglines is “putting the handshake back in the deal.”
Although Longboat Key is Hagan’s niche, the firm will also serve communities throughout the Sarasota area, and Hagan is focused on finding agents who have their own niche.
Hagan is chairwoman of this year’s Longboat Key Garden Club Home Tour and is active in Selah Freedom and Samaritan Counseling Services of the Gulf Coast.
