There’s only one John Wild and without him, the Kiwanis Club of Longboat Key would be lost.

At the club’s Feb. 13 weekly breakfast meeting, Kiwanis Club President Richard Crawford surprised Wild when he announced during his weekly remarks that he had created a new award called the President’s Award for Wild’s service to the club.

“Without all of the little things and big things this man does to keep this club moving in the right direction, this club wouldn’t keep moving forward the way it has been,” Crawford said.
Club members gave Wild a round of applause.
