If you’re anything like me, you might have spent last night living up the best part of your 20s, (or at least telling people it's your 20s). You’re also probably in no mood to wake up before it's absolutely necessary, especially to wash, blow dry and flat iron your hair.

Well, fret no more. The hair heavens have opened up, and 2014 has bestowed upon us the grown-up grunge, ethereal, lived-in messy trend that is everywhere. From the runways, to Lordes' glorious locks on the cover of Rolling Stone, all the way to the "it girl" on the streets of New York, this care-free hair care is everywhere.

This trendy, street-styled look is easily accomplished, and in my opinion, it always gives better second-day hair. Some of my new favorite products for this look can be found in the same great line from Bumble and Bumble.

Here are our steps:

  • Get a sudsy start with Bumble and Bumble's Surf Foam Wash Shampoo and Surf Cream Rinse Conditioner.
  • Get your hands in it! After towel drying, apply Bumble and Bumble Tonic Lotion to bring out your natural texture and layer over that a few spritzes of Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray and scrunch with your hands.
  • Let it dry. You can either do this naturally or use a diffuser attachment and blow dryer to give your that messy, windswept look.
  • Once your hair is dry, grab your can of  Bumble and Bumble Thickening Dryspun Finish. Lift your hair and spray towards the root and half way down the hair shaft. Top it all off with my new favorite hair candy by Bumble and Bumble, called CitySwept Finish. It gives your hair supple hold with a bit of separation and sheen without a heavy feel. I love its anti-fluff factor, and it also helps to define and separate my waves.

Whether you're feeling like an ethereal Greek goddess or a new-age punk queen, this super simple street-styled look is what everyone is dying to get their hands in the season.
