MARRIED
Chelsea Veeneman and Albert Stickley III

Sarasota native Chelsea Veeneman and Englewood native Albert “A.J.” Stickley III were married April 13 at Siesta Key Chapel.

The bride walked down the isle wearing an all-lace Augusta Jones dress, with a fitted bodice, a fit-and-flair train and romantic, all-lace cap sleeves.

The bridesmaids wore chiffon floor-length dresses in blush pink. The maid of honor was the cousin of the bride, Lindsey Lee Gilliland. Bridemaids were sisters Kristin and Elyse Veeneman, sister of the groom Mandy Tannehill, Megan Wallin, Lea Mei, Charlotte Gilchrist and Laila Gordon. The flower girl was Cerys Rickard, cousin of the bride.

Best man was the brother of the groom, Daniel Stickley. Groomsmen were brother-in-law Randy Tannehill, Doug Blecki, Rob Brown, Sean Dhillon, Keith Gelder, Sundance Stureman, Ben Tario, Jason Wetherington, and Darrell Kropog.

The ring bearers, Luke and Owen Tannehill, are nephews of the groom.

The bride’s parents are Maggie and Robert Veeneman, of Sarasota. The groom’s parents are Susan and Albert Stickley Jr., of Englewood.

Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Field Club. At sunset, cocktails and appetizers were served on the outside terrace overlooking Sarasota Bay. The five-course dinner was served in the dining room.

Cakes by Ron made the four-tiered cake decorated with a replica of the delicate lace details from the bride’s wedding dress and the couple’s monogram. The groom’s cake was a tribute to his alma mater, Florida State University.

The Lounge Cats, a Rat Pack cover band, played music till the wee hours of the night. The bride and groom danced their first song to Dean Martin’s “Ain’t That a Kick in the Head.” They performed a flawless swing performance — it seems the dance lessons paid off.

The groom surprised the bride with a classic 1957 Lincoln as their getaway car.

Chelsea grew up on Siesta Key and attended Out-of-Door Academy and Cardinal Mooney High School. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in communications from The College of Charleston, she returned home to Sarasota. She currently works as a marketing rep at Nurse on Call Home Health Care.

A.J. grew up in Englewood and attended Lemon Bay High School. He graduated from Florida State University with a double major from the College of Business of College of Social Sciences. He then went on to receive his juris doctorate from Thomas M. Cooley Law School, in Michigan. He recently opened his own law firm, The Law Office of A. Stickley III P.A., in Englewood.

Kelly Lee and Robert Anderson Jr.
Kelly Lee and Robert Anderson Jr. were married Nov. 16 at the Sanderling Club on Siesta Key. Kelly’s two sons, Derek and Alex Lee, walked her down the aisle. Robert’s two daughters, Rachael and Samantha Anderson, performed a reading from Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, the Places You’ll Go.” Kelly’s best friend, Leisa Young, married the couple.

The couple, who reside in Sarasota, honeymooned in St. Barths.
