Sarasota High Track
The Sarasota High boys and girls track teams set several new school records at the 8th annual North Port Bobcat Relays Feb. 21.

The girls 4x1,600-meter relay team of Sage Lyons, Mackenzie Brown, Angelina Grebe and Emily Harding won the event in 21:48, which broke a 24-year-old school record as well as the meet record set in 2012. The team also won the distance medley relay in 13:08.

The boys 4x1,600 team of Brandon Drumm, Brian Kerry, Adam Bradtmuller and Zack Summerall won the event in 18:37 to break the previous school record set in 1990. Bradtmuller, Drumm, Summerall and Jake LeBlanc then combined to set new school and meet records in the distance medley, winning the event in 10:54.

Corey Williams won the long jump in 22 feet, 1 inch. He then teamed up with Dominique Austin, Shawn Bane Jr. and LeBlanc to set new school and meet records in the 800 sprint medley, finishing in 1:39.12.

+ ODA baseball notches pair of wins
The Out-of-Door Academy baseball team posted a pair of victories this past week.
On Feb. 20, the Thunder defeated rival Cardinal Mooney 3-1 in Class 3A-District 10 action. Austin Hoppe earned the win for ODA, while Jimmy Kuebler was credited with the save.

ODA followed up its victory with a 16-11 victory over Booker Feb. 22.

Jake Romine went 3-for-4 with a double to lead the way for ODA at the plate.

+ Riverview opens district season with win
The Riverview High softball team defeated St. Petersburg 11-2 Feb. 21 in its first district game of the season.

Carly Nicholas went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs. Taylor Kierscht went 3-for-5 with an inside-the-park home run. Rachel West went 3-for-4 with a triple. Deanna Stevens pitched a complete game for the Lady Rams, allowing two runs on six hits while striking out 10.

+ Lady Thunder swing past Lady Indians
The Out-of-Door Academy girls tennis ream improved to 4-0 with a 4-2 victory over Venice Feb. 19.
Maria Ross, Mary Ann Rompf, Sydney Sforzo and Charlotte Dixon all earned singles victories for the Lady Thunder.

+ Cougars top Manta Rays
The Cardinal Mooney baseball team defeated Lemon Bay 7-3 Feb. 24. Pitcher T. Hebda allowed two unearned runs in five innings. Dean Visaggio had two hits, drove in two runs and scored a pair of runs to lead the way for Cardinal Mooney at the plate.
