Booker High School celebrated the opening of its newly rebuilt campus Friday, Feb. 28.
The new facility, located at 3201 N. Orange Ave., includes five new buildings with 80 classrooms. Major renovations were made to five other builders, which consolidates the 38 buildings that previously occupied the campus.
The centerpiece of the campus is a two-story building built to house student clubs and communities. Each student group will be able to work with teachers in state-of-the art computer labs and classrooms. This will help students feel more connected to their peers and their school.
Construction began in 2010 was completed in December 2013.
