Jan. 1
FARE WARNING
3:46 a.m. — South Tuttle Avenue. Dispute/Fight. A taxi driver picked up a woman at a hotel in Bradenton and took her to a gas station. The woman was intoxicated and could not find her money upon arrival. The driver and the woman got into a dispute concerning payment, so the driver contacted the police. The woman located her money after officers arrived, and the driver took the woman to a hotel.

WHITE NIGHT
4:38 a.m. — 1000 block of Cocoanut Avenue. Suspicion General. A man said he had been sleeping inside his apartment when he heard someone outside his window. When he looked outside the window, he saw another man, age 30 to 50, wearing all white. The other man hit his window with a blunt object and ran away. The window was not damaged.

Jan. 4
AIR-ING OF GRIEVANCES
5:51 a.m. — 1800 block of 23rd Street. Suspicion General. A woman said unknown people were going through her ceiling and closing the vents on the air-conditioning unit in her residence. The woman showed officers one of the vents, but said they had opened them up again. The woman has called police in the past, accusing her neighbors of entering through her ceiling and crawling through her attic. Officers found no evidence of tampering.

SOAKING GUN
6:30 p.m. — Bayfront Drive. Lost Property. A woman came into the bar and asked the manager if an employee had found any personal protection. Asked what she meant, the woman said she lost a gun. An officer made contact with the woman’s boyfriend, who said that they lived on a boat in the bay. He said they took a dingy into shore, and the woman had a pistol in her pocket. The man said he believed the woman dropped the gun into the water when they were getting in or out of the dingy.

Jan. 5
PARTY CRASHER
6:18 p.m. — 200 block of Hoosier Place. Noise Violation. An officer responded to a noise complaint and found a birthday party being held one block north. The party had an intercom hooked up for party games, but guests said the event would be wrapping up within the next 30 minutes. The officer found no noise violation.
