A Bay Isles South home at 560 Harbor Point Road is among 50 finalists for the Wall Street Journal’s “House of the Year.”

The publication’s readers chose the home as “House of the Week” after it was featured as “House of the Day” in January. The home sold for $4.75 million in May.

A Premier Sotheby’s International Realty news release announcing the sale described the home as a 5,041-square-foot Palladian-style estate with four bedrooms and four-and-a-half bathrooms that overlooks the downtown Sarasota skyline on the bay.

Built by Murray homes and designed by Sarasota architect Clifford Scholz, the newly constructed residence is located on a cul-de-sac and has nearly 200 feet of waterfront with a protected yacht slip.

The “House of the Year” poll is a culmination of 2013 “House of the Week” winners. Voting began Dec. 23 and commences Jan. 13. On Thursday, a Lake Tahoe property was in the lead with 24,290 votes.
