The Manatee County School District is hosting its second community engagement forum Wednesday night.

As a way to promote communication and transparency with the public, the district rolled out the forums — meetings for parents, School Advisory Council members and district staff to discuss the state of the schools — this academic year.

The forum has a structured agenda.

Wednesday night’s forum, held 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Manatee High School media center, 902 33rd St Ct W, Bradenton, features comments on the district’s strategic plan by Superintendent Rick Mills, a school board update from Julie Aranibar and talk about school safety, among other topics.

There will also be an open-ended question and answer session at the end of the forum.
