Longboat Key Garden Club
Longboat Key Commissioner Jack Duncan, Vice Mayor David Brenner, Commissioners Pat Zunz and Terry Gans, Virginia Sanders, Mayor Jim Brown, Jean White and Commissioner Lynn Larson celebrated Florida Arbor Day Jan. 16, at Bicentennial Park. The tree pictured will be planted on the Gulf of Mexico Drive right of way. Sanders and White were co-chairwomen of the event.

St. Mary, Star of the Sea, Catholic Church Women’s Guild
Sally Daneman with Susan Burgess, of SOLVE Maternity Homes, crocheted baby items to donate to the organization. Burgess spoke to the Women’s Guild Jan. 14, at the group’s “Respect Life” meeting.
