1 - The Out-of-Door Academy alumnus Sekou Bangoura defeated No. 7 seed Yoshihito Nishioka, of Japan, 6-4, 6-2 to win the Men’s $10K Plantation Community Open, a USTA Pro Circuit event, Jan. 12.

2 - Jacqueline Kulle scored 21 points to lead the Cardinal Mooney girls basketball team to a 39-31 victory over The Out-of-Door Academy Jan. 17 and the top seed in the Class 3A-District 10 tournament.

3 - Michael Staikos had eight saves to lead the Cardinal Mooney High boys soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Sarasota Jan. 17.

4 - Mark Sulimirski and Filip Svoboda each scored a goal to propel The Out-of-Door Academy boys soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Dunbar Jan. 14.

5 - Gunnar Kral scored three goals to lead the Sarasota Christian boys soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Admiral Farragut Jan. 16.
