On the heels of its Broadway success, Asolo Repertory Theatre presents "Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike," which opens tonight. The story is about middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia, who live a quiet life in the Pennsylvania farmhouse where they were raised, while their movie-star sister Masha travels the world. Just as their cleaning woman warns them about terrible events in their future, Masha returns for a surprise visit with her studly boy-toy, Spike.

Actors Peggy Roeder, Anne-Marie Cusson and Andrew Sellon sat down with The Observer to talk about how they relate to both the competitive and loving relationships presented in “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.” Read more here.

The comedy opens 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 24 and runs through April 14, at Asolo Repertory Theatre, 5555 N. Tamiami Trail. Tickets are $21 to $76 and can be purchased by calling 351-8000. For more information, visit asolorep.org
