1. Pumpkin, year round

The holidays have passed, and now that you've eaten all the pumpkin pie you can handle, look for the health benefits of pumpkin without the calories. Did you know that the enzymes in pumpkin are a great skin surface? Try Glo Therapeutics pumpkin enzyme facial to brighten and restore for the New Year!

2. Why vitamin E?

About sseven days after we consume vitamin E, it's secreted onto the skin's surface through sebum, an oily substance that coats the outer layer of the skin to help protect us from environmental damage and UV radiation. So, eat up — almonds, spinach, bell peppers, asparagus, brocolli and brussell sprouts are all great sources.

3. What do we see in vitamin C?

Vitamin C is essential for healthy collagen, a protein necessary for healthy skin. Vitamin C deficiency causes rough, dry skin. Diets high in vitamin C have better skin appearance and fewer wrinkles,as well as improved healing and reduced scar formation.

4. Be tropical

Coconut water is three times more hydrating than regular water. One 8 oz. glass contains more potassium than four bananas.

5. Drink more water

Water helps flush toxins from the body to keep it healthy. Staying hydrated can facilitate weight loss, while also improving skin, joint, hair, nail, muscle and heart health. The American Medical Associations recommends half your body weight in ounces of water per day.

6. Treat, don’t touch

Touching your skin throughout the day only adds bacteria to an already inflamed area. Instead, treat with benzoyl peroxide for tough breakouts and tea tree oil for more mild issues.

7. Clean your makeup brushes

Clean your makeup bushes at least once a week to help prevent breakouts and for smoother makeup application. Always clean bushes in a small bowl with some antibacterial liquid soap. Rinse until the water runs clear, and always shake and lie flat to dry.

8. Wash away before you dream away

Always wash your face before you go to bed to take the day off to remove any of the day's impurities and prevent clogging. And, always remember to get plenty of beauty rest!

9. Apply sunscreen daily

Unfortunately, our ozone layer isn't what it was in the '50s, so we need liberal amounts of sunscreen daily. But take a break every seven days or so to soak up a few rays — it’s a good source of vitamin D and helps boost your mental state and well being.

10. Sea salt, anyone?

Use a sea-salt scrub at least once a week to help stimulate the lymphatic system and release and flush out toxins.
