Obituary: Fannye 'Fran' Baudner

Fannye “Fran” Caroline Baudner, of Longboat Key and Black Rock, Conn., died Jan. 8.

Born in Meriden, Conn., Mrs. Baudner was a graduate of the Latin American Institute, in New York City, and studied at Laval University, in Canada. She worked on her family’s farm in Meriden as a bilingual secretary and later at Saxe Junior High in New Canaan, Conn. Most recently, she worked at the Asolo Repertory Theatre, in Sarasota.

Mrs. Baudner was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a direct, 12th-generation descendent of William Brewster, a key organizer of the Mayflower expedition. Her passions included literature, films, nature, New York City and listening to Frank Sinatra.

Mrs. Baudner was preceded in death by her husband, Paul. She is survived by her daughter, Alice, and son, Paul.

Her family extends thanks to Greenwich Hospital, Burke Rehabilitation, Greenwich Woods Rehabilitation, Manor Care Sarasota, Longboat Key paramedics, friends and neighbors.
