June LeBell was the first female radio announcer on a major classical music radio station. She spent her career in New York City as a host of numerous programs, including the award-winning "Salute to the Arts."

Fortunately for Sarasota’s WSMR listeners, classical music and LeBell fans, she’ll be hosting a new program similar to “Salute to the Arts” in Sarasota. She’ll host, produce and book the guests on her show. And she’s not limiting the performers and musicians she feature to Sarasotans — these will be from all over the world. Her first guest will be Marilyn Horne, a famous 80-year-old Mezzo-soprano opera singer, in October.
