Obituary: Robert McCarthy

Robert McCarthy, of Winter Park, formerly of Fox Chapel, Pa., died June 22.

Born September 22, 1924, in Pittsburgh, Mr. McCarthy was a graduate of Taylor Alderdice High School and Duke University. A member of the Duke University Naval Unit, he served at Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago.

Mr. McCarthy worked at the Fidelity and Deposit Company of Maryland for 21 years. In 1969, he founded Robert C. McCarthy Agency. He retired from the agency in 1990 to live on Longboat Key. In 2004, he moved back to Winter Park.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 64 years, Lillian; two sons, Robert Jr. and Kevin; and two grandchildren.
