The Sarasota Little League 9/10 and 10/11 American All-Stars both won District 16 championships June 25. District champions include:

9/10 — Pip Smalley, Matthew Morelli, Cooper Bowditch, Austin Harford, Aidan Marino, Cole Griffith, Chris Barr, Cameron Cabral, Rex Smith, Dean Thompson, Charlie Cooper, Beau Christensen and Luke Geske

Nearly 60 players teed off in the Greater Sarasota Junior Golf Association Summer Series event June 23, on The Harborside of the Longboat Key Club.

+ Babe Ruth All-Stars win district crowns
The Sarasota Babe Ruth 14- and 15-year-old teams both won their districts to advance to the state tournament July 16 through July 20, in Jupiter.

The 14-year-olds came from behind to defeat North Tampa 10-6, while the 15-year-olds won the first two games of a best-of-three series, defeating Fossil Park 13-2 and 10-6.
