Visitor wreaks havoc
6:46 p.m. — 300 block of Longboat Club Road. Burglary. A security officer for the Longboat Key Club reported someone damaged two lockers inside the men’s locker room of the Islandside Spa. A crow bar was used to open the lockers. One was empty, but the other locker contained unknown items belonging to a club member. Employees believe a guest staying in a nearby unit could be responsible for the incidents. That man, employees said, called for extra items from two different maids. Both times maids addressed the man’s requests, their purses went missing. Police were unable to make contact with the suspect.
