Obituary: Margaret Susan Kasper

Margaret Susan Kasper, 81, of Longboat Key, died July 1.

Born Jan. 4, 1933, in New York City, she was affectionately known as Susie.

Mrs. Kasper and her husband, Robert, met in 1959 and married June 3, 1962. They raised four children: Eve, Jeffrey, Julie and Michael.

Her organizational and practical skills were essential to helping her husband start his medical practice. For the first year, she continued as his nurse, receptionist and bookkeeper.

Mrs. Kasper was a skilled archer, horse breeder, trainer of national champion Arabian horses and a synchronized swimmer. She was a patron of the arts, particularly at the Kennedy Center, in Washington, D.C.

Mrs. Kasper enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, particularly La Samanna on St. Martin.

Mrs. Kasper is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Eve, Jeffrey, Julie and Michael; and 10 grandchildren.
