The following information was gathered from incident and arrest reports obtained from the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office.

July 14
 dip and ditch

2:16 p.m. — Intersection of 33rd Street E./63rd Avenue E. Found Property. The reporting party was supervising his road gang crew at the location when one of the inmates found a lighter. He also found a can of dip. He later brought the items in to be destroyed.

July 21 
 sound off

5:01 am. — 14000 block of 17th Avenue E. Information Only. A woman contacted the sheriff’s office after being woken up by her dog barking. She looked outside her house and saw what appeared to be a white male, about 6 feet tall and 140 pounds, standing next to one of the cars in her driveway. She said the subject fled in an unknown direction. Upon arrival, the deputy found no signs of forced entry into the vehicle. As time went on, the sheriff’s office began receiving other calls for service.

July 23
 stolen tag

12:29 a.m. — 6200 block of State Road 64 E. Petit/Grand Theft. The complainant called the sheriff’s office to report his license plate had been stolen from his vehicle. He stated the license plate was held on by two screws. The only way to remove it was with a screwdriver. He said he last noticed the license plate was on the vehicle that morning at his residence. He has no clue as to who might have removed the plate from his vehicle. The deputy collected a lost/stolen license plate affidavit.

3:14 p.m. — 8400 block of Lockwood Ridge Road. Trespass Warning. While in the deputy’s presence, a representative of a restaurant told the subject that she was being trespassed from the restaurant and that she could be arrested if she returned.

July 24
 personal effects

10:22 p.m. — 8500 block of Cooper Creek Boulevard. Petit Theft First Degree/Property $100 to Under $300. A woman was conducting an investigation into an employee theft when she observed the defendant conceal cash from the drawer in his pocket. She confronted the employee, and he admitted to stealing the money. The woman notified law enforcement, who took the subject into custody. He was given a trespass warning.

July 25
 high jump

2:04 p.m. — 5100 block of Caruso Road. Burglary to Structure — Larceny. Unknown person(s) accessed the rear of the building and entered the shop through an open window about 6 to 7 feet off the ground. The person(s) fled out the same window, stealing property.
