The great indoors
8:20 p.m. — 500 block of Sloop Lane. Animal. A woman found a 3-foot snake in her kitchen. Police placed the snake in a paper bag and released it.

Golf club grab
9:39 a.m. — 4600 block of GMD. Vehicle Burglary. A couple discovered their two sets of golf clubs missing from their vehicle when they arrived at the course. The man believes the vehicle was left unlocked.
Complaint generator
2:52 p.m. — 500 block of Harbor Gate Way. Noise. A woman complained that her neighbor has a loud generator near her bedroom window and also security lights that turn on and off all night. The neighbor said the generator was new. He wasn’t home when it was being tested the day before and had no idea it was so loud. He agreed to test the generator only on weekdays around noon and fix the security lights.

Loud mouths
11:08 a.m. — 4600 block of GMD. Disturbance. A woman became belligerent after a hotel manager told her and her friend to leave the property because of noise complaints. The women said they had been drinking all night and might have been loud when they smoked cigarettes on the walkway. They agreed to find another place to stay.
Pricey package
4:48 p.m. — 700 block of St. Judes Drive North. Lost/Missing Property. A deliveryman told a man he could not find his package, which contained a $17,000 wedding ring. The man believes the ring was stolen, but the deliveryman said he tried to deliver the package twice, but the man was not home, and packages are misplaced daily.

Crash course
6:59 a.m. — 4100 block of GMD. Property Damage. Someone ran over a mailbox and an “entering Manatee County” street sign. Police took the mail to the post office for safekeeping, and Public Works employees placed the sign upright.
Root causes
9:16 a.m. — 600 block of Linley Street. Suspicious Circumstance. A man called police three days earlier after a man who was yelling at trees rummaged through his vehicle. He called police again when he found a set of keys that didn’t belong to him in the home where he was staying because he believes the man also entered the residence. A neighbor told police the man suffers from head trauma and epilepsy.
No one’s home
1:19 p.m. — 3100 block of GMD. Assist Other Agency. A reportedly suicidal woman’s cellphone was pinging to a Key home, but a Realtor who was holding an open house at the residence said no one had been there all day.
Native son
11:16 p.m. — 3600 block of Fair Oaks Place. Suspicious Circumstance. A man said there were cars and people at the home of his neighbor, who is in England. Police found the homeowner at the house, who was confused because he does not know anyone in the neighborhood and has not been in England. He lives in Tampa and comes to the home once a month.
