The Sarasota County Fire Department honored Fire Chief Mike Tobias May 29, outside the Sarasota County Administration Building. Community leaders wished Tobias well at the farewell/retirement ceremony, which included a color guard and final salute by the county Fire Department and Emergency Services personnel. Tobias has worked for the Sarasota County Fire Department for 25 years, serving as Sarasota County Fire Chief since 2011, and was honored throughout the week for his years of service.
