+ St. Armands CircleAssociation elects new leaders

The St. Armands Circle Association recently elected its 2014-15 board of directors.

Scott Macdonald, of Crab & Finn, is the association’s new president.

Board members are Sheri Aiello, Jamie Aymerich and Bill Carman, all friends of St. Armands; Diana Corrigan, executive director; Steve Doster, InterServe Internet Services Inc.; Cari Gardner, Ritz-Carlton Sarasota; Laurie Gomes, Herald-Tribune Media Group; Stephanie Grosskreutz, Visit Sarasota County; Matt Grover, Daiquiri Deck; Angela Johnston, Les Ciseaux Salon & Medi-Spa; Chris Lynch, Lynches Pub & Grub; Jack Peffley, Marcello Sport; Sandra Rios, Resort at Longboat Key Club; Eric Seace, Dream Weaver; Yvonne Schloss, Sunglass Express & Optical; Andrew Vac, RE/MAX Alliance and National Awards Florida; and Michael Valentino, Island Pursuit. Honorary members are Glynn Armitage, friend of St. Armands; Paul Thorpe Jr., of Thorpe Promotions; and Matt Walsh, of the Observer Media Group.

+ RVA names Tammy Halsted business development manager

RVA recently named Tammy Halsted as its business development manager.

Halsted will be responsible for welcoming new homeowners into its program, promoting a referral program to local real estate agents and representing RVA at local events.

A Texas native, Halsted has more than 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry in positions with Tampa and New Orleans Convention & Visitor Bureaus, Marriot International, Wedebrock and RE/MAX Excellence real estate companies. She is a Longboat Key Chamber of Commerce board member and ambassador and a volunteer at The Players Theatre and American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

+ Chiles Group, Mote team up for 39th annual NOAA Fish Fry

The Chiles Restaurant Group and Mote Marine Laboratory representatives attended the 39th annual National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Fish Fry that showcases sustainable seafood that makes each state unique.

Local representatives who attended the fish fry are Michael Crosby, president/CEO of Mote, Ed Chiles, owner of the Chiles Restaurant Group, and Seth Cripe, majority owner of Lola Wines, in which Chiles is also a partner.

Chiles and Cripe also own and operate the Anna Maria Fish Co.

+ Plymouth Harbor announces 2014 officers, new directors

Plymouth Harbor recently announced the 2014 officers of its board of trustees.

Officers are F. Thomas Hopkins, chairman; G. Duncan Finlay, vice chairman; Randall Natherson, treasurer; and John Strickland, secretary.

New directors of the board of trustees are Lee DeLieto Sr., Brian Hall, Cindy Malkin, Jon Swift and Dale Woodling. Continuing directors are residents Mary Allyn and John Denison, and William Johnston, William Kennedy and Sarah Pappas.
