May 10
STILL FIRED UP
2:30 p.m. — 4100 block of GMD.
Suspicious Circumstance. A man who owns a boat-towing service discovered someone had loosened the battery cables and jammed the fuel lines together on one of his boats. He told police a man he fired more than a year ago could be responsible.

May 14
WATCHFUL EYES
2:30 p.m. — 200 block of Sands Point Road
. Lost/Missing Property. A woman discovered her watch was missing and does not believe it was stolen. She last remembers wearing it on a golf course. Security searched the course but was unable to find it. Police checked pawn shop databases and did not locate it.

May 24
NO ONE'S HOME
1:19 p.m. — 3100 block of GMD
. Assist Other Agency. The cellphone of a reportedly suicidal woman was pinging to a Key home, but a Realtor who was holding an open house at the residence said no one had been there all day.

May 28
THIS LAND IS MY LAND
1:49 p.m. — 6900 block of GMD
. Reckless Driving. A motorcyclist pulled in front of a woman, then slowed down rapidly multiple times, possibly in an attempt to make her vehicle rear end him. When she and her husband arrived at their destination, he blocked them into a parking spot and yelled at the woman about her driving, telling her to “go back home.” The woman said she is American but has an accent from her native country in Eastern Europe.

FORGOT TO LOCK UP
1:49 a.m. — 700 block of Broadway
. Security Check. Police found a restaurant door unlocked during a security check. The manager said he forgot to lock up.

WHAT'S YOUR NUMBER?
2:11 p.m. — 5400 block of GMD
. Identity Theft. A man discovered someone used his Social Security number to open a credit card account.

May 30
BACK SO SOON
4:07 a.m. — 300 block of N. Shore Road
. Domestic Disturbance. A man called police because his girlfriend left on foot. He was worried about her because she is new to the area. She returned before police arrived and said she needed to “get some fresh air.”

May 31
DOUBLE DOG DARE
2:14 p.m. — 100 block of GMD.
Animal. Police told a family that was walking a dog in a park that dogs aren’t allowed there and directed them to dog-friendly Joan Durante Park. A short time later, police saw the family again with their dog in the park. Police gave an adult male a notice to appear in court for violating a town ordinance.

June 1
COLD CASE
6:42 p.m. — 500 block of De Narvaez Drive
. Burglary. A man returned to the home he is renting for the week after a day at the beach and discovered a window had been removed. No property was missing, but an open package of hot dogs was moved from the refrigerator to the sink.

June 2
CUT ABOVE
2:21 p.m. — 600 block of Norton St.
Injury. A piece of glass fell on a worker and cut his hand between his thumb and wrist. Police told him to continue applying pressure until paramedics arrived.

WHAT A DOWNER
4:35 p.m. — 500 block of GMD
. Property Damage. A passerby told police that a brown truck that was pulling a boat was responsible for knocking down several cables on the Key. Several lines on Bradenton Beach were also knocked down.

CALL IT A DAY
5:25 p.m. — 800 block of Tarawitt Drive
. Noise. Police warned a construction foreman about performing work after hours. The foreman was not aware of the town’s ordinance and agreed to stop.

DRINKING AND DIALING
6:48 p.m. — 600 block of Buttonwood Drive
. Domestic Disturbance. A woman said she accidentally called 911, then admitted she called during an argument with her husband about his drinking. Police determined it was nothing more than a discussion and left.

June 3
COLONY CALL
10:39 a.m. — 1600 block of GMD.
Property Damage. The property manager at the shuttered Colony Beach & Tennis Resort found the front door was forced open to a unit. No other units were damaged.

WILL WALK FOR FOOD
6:36 p.m. — 4000 block of GMD.
Suspicious Person. A man asked a convenience store clerk if she could donate a sandwich to him and said he was walking the state for world peace. Police found the man walking toward Sarasota. He had two outstanding warrants, but neither was extraditable. Police drove him to Sarasota, at his request.
