Beginning Monday, June 16 Venice Theatre will host a week-long international community theater festival dubbed aactWorldFest 2014. Fourteen troupes from as far as Australia and Denmark will give a showcase of performances in their native languages. There are more than 30 performances throughout the week.
There are also social events, workshops and master classes offered to the public, including a master class from Tony-winner Ben Vereen. Tickets are offered in blocks — a $20 to $30 ticket offers two or three shows.
The last time the theater hosted this event was in 2010. The impact numbers are impressive: this means 40 states, 20 countries, six continents and more than $1 million in economic impact. And it’s entertaining! For more information, tickets and to view the schedule, visit the website at venicestage.com.
