+ Local golfer wins championship
Eight-year-old Alana Kutt won the Sarasota City Junior Championship 10 and Under, nine-hole division June 14 and June 15, at Bobby Jones Golf Club in Sarasota.
The Tabernacle Christian School third-grader, who practices at Palm-Aire Country Club, sank a 20-foot putt on the final hole after trailing by two strokes with three holes to play. Kutt shot 38 in the final round to win the championship.
Kutt followed her championship with a victory at the PGA North Florida Section East Central Chapter Pee Wee Championship June 21, at PGA International.
She shot 38 and won with a birdie on the first sudden-death playoff hole in the boys/girls 7- to 8-year-old division.
+ Rosedale to hold junior golf camps
Rosedale Golf & Country Club will hold a series of summer junior golf camps from July 8 to Aug. 15.
Camps will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday through Friday for all players ages 6 to 16. Participants will practice putting, pitching and chipping, while working with irons, hybrids and woods. Cost is $120 per week, and refreshments will be available.
All participants should bring their own clubs to the camp.

+ Ancient Oak to hold Ole Glory shoot
Ancient Oak Gun Club will hold a National Sporting Clays Association- registered Ole Glory shoot June 28.
This event will feature both morning and afternoon shoots. Cost for the morning shoot, which will be a 100-bird shoot on the south course, is $65 and includes lunch, prizes and all FSCA/NSCA fees.
The afternoon shoot is a 50-bird, 12-gauge North Course Challenge and all sub-gauges for $25. Price includes all FSCA/NSCA fees.
Those participants who break 50 out of 50 targets will win a $500 Target gift card. Registration begins at 8 a.m. Shooting and warmups begin at 8:30 a.m.
