After getting a few physical bouts under his belt in our latest series, "Come at me, Sarasota," our reporter, Alex Mahadevan, decided it was time to switch things up a bit — you know, to keep it fair for his opponents. As he says, they can't all be expected to keep up with the embodiment of physical fitness, so he decided it was time to move on to feats of the gastrointestinal variety.

Enter Munchies 420 Cafe. Not only is it your best bet for late-night noshing, but the Gulf Gate mainstay is also home to one of the most brutal eating challenges around: the "Fire in Your Hole" hot wing challenge. Hell hath no fury like ghost pepper extract, and even Man Vs. Food's own Adam Richman was no match for the 10-wing inferno.

Resting on the laurels of his Indian descent, Mahadevan remained unfazed in the face of the world's hottest pepper, boastfully shouting out challenges like, "YOLO," and "Pff. What? I work out." Watch the video to see how Alex fared against those who have winged before him.

Founded with the mission of feeding the latest of late-night cravers, Munchies 420 Cafe's normal menu serves up heaping helpings of chicken fingers, mac and cheese, cheeseburgers, mozarella sticks, onion rings and spuds, all on one sandwich. For the more faint of heart, the restaurant also offers Philly cheesesteaks on bread straight from Philly. And if you're not in the mood for food (or you're looking to extinguish your mouth fire), take a seat at Munchies new, expanded inside bar or catch some live music at the newly opened outdoor tiki bar.
