Sarasota Christian picks up district win

The Sarasota Christian softball team defeated Southwest Florida Christian 5-2 in district action March 4.

The Lady Blazers scored three runs in the top of the first inning. McKenzie Lantz opened the game with a walk and then stole second base. Cheyenne Miller added a base hit. Savanna King notched a hit to drive in Lantz and Miller. Audra King reached on a fielder’s choice and came around to score Sarasota Christian’s third run of the inning.

Lantz went 1-for-1 with a walk and a stolen base. Miller went 2-for-4. Audrey Bennett went 1-for-3 with a double and a RBI.

Miller picked up the win for Sarasota Christian on the mound, allowing four hits while striking out four.
