In a wave of Prada and Armani, there were a few things that stood out at the 86th Annual Academy Awards besides the gowns that were inspired by the gorgeous women who wore them. Aside from the Best Dressed list, it was all about the glamorous hair and the luxurious accessories. The awards definitely showcased a less-is-more style, with some of my favorite stars opting for a classic, even retro look.

There was a definite makeup trend this year as well, with a lot of the starlets sporting a strong eye, paired with a neutral or pale lip.

Such was the case with both Julia Roberts and Sandra Bullock. While most of the leading ladies kept it simple, America's sweetheart, Julia, opted for an ethereal low ponytail, while the always stunning Sandra Bullock worked gorgeous curls swept to the side, staying with a beautiful, effortless look.

My love for the silly, awkward Jennifer Lawrence is infinite, and despite another slip on the red carpet,

the Girl on Fire at least looked like the poised picture of perfection. She chose a messy, slicked-back style, showing off her newly chopped locks teamed up with a Neil Lane necklace featuring 100 carats of diamonds priced at $2 million!

The always elegant Cate Blanchett went with a more classic 1940s style wave. Cate was an equal balance of modern chic and old Hollywood glamor, showcasing her Chopard earrings, which were the most perfect opal drops, set in white gold.

The nights biggest winner, Lupita Nyong’o, topped off her short hair with the accessory of the evening – a delicate gold-and-diamond headband from Fred Leighton, which paired perfectly with her 'Nairobi' blue Prada dress.

But if you ask me, the scene stealer of the night was none other than Jared Leto's hair. Never before has a man made me question my hair like the beautiful, perfectly ombre'd locks of the actor formerly known as Jordan Catalano.
