River Dawgs go undefeated in tournament

The 13U Florida River Dawgs went 4-0 to win the Tampa Bay Classic NIT March 8 and March 9.

The River Dawgs opened pool play with a 2-0 victory over Florida Battalion and a 16-2 victory over 5TBA.
In the semifinals, the River Dawgs defeated Florida Battalion 4-3 to advance to the championship game where they beat the South Florida Bandits 10-2.

“We put pressure on our opponents all day with quality at bats and an aggressive running game,” coach Scott Kolbe says. “We were solid from top to bottom, and our depth really helped us.”

The 10U River Dawgs also went 4-0 to win their respective division.

The team, which is now ranked No. 12 in the nation, defeated Florida Battalion 13-9 in the championship game.
