Tito comes from behind to win

Tito’s defeated Wildcat 10-6 in the finals of the Schroeder-Manatee Ranch 12-goal, sponsored by BMO Private Bank, March 16 at the Sarasota Polo Club.

Holding onto a 2-1 lead after the first chukker, Tito’s scored three unanswered goals to increase its lead to 5-1.

Wildcat responded with two goals in the third chukker to cut the deficit to 6-3 at halftime, but Tito’s scored three unanswered goals in the fourth chukker to secure the victory.

Jason Crowder, a six-goal handicap and the highest-rated player on the field, scored seven goals to lead the way for Tito’s.

Chris Nevins scored five goals to lead the way for Wildcat.

Crowder was named the Most Valuable Player. Rob Berg received the Best Playing Pony award for his mare Flaca’s performance.

Teams return to action at 1 p.m. March 23 in the MGA Insurance Group Cup.

WORDPLAY: PENALTY A free hit toward the goal from a set distance. The severity of the foul committed determines what penalty will be awarded.
