Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” is now playing at The Players Theatre of Sarasota through April 6. It is just as raunchy, hilarious and scandalous as the title suggests. Just to give you a taste I’m taking you backstage on opening night. I’d show you the raunchy scandalous parts, but that’s giving it away. You’ll just have to see it to enjoy those.

The musical, based on the 1988 movie starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine, is set on the French Riviera where two con men make a living swindling women out of their riches. After realizing the town isn’t big enough for both of them, they make a bet. Who ever can con the soap heiress Christine Colgate (that’s me!) out of $50,000 wins and gets to continue their dirty rotten ways.
