WEEKEND BEST BET: Sarasota Folk Festival

Folk music lovers rejoice! The Sarasota Folk Festival returns to Oscar Scherer State Park Saturday, March 22 and Sunday, March 23.

The two-day festival includes more than thirty acts performing on three stages. Aspiring musicians are invited to bring their instruments to the festival’s jam tent and workshop tent for up-close and personal lessons from their favorite artists.

There will be a children’s area with workshops and creative, fun events as well as the park’s playground.

This year, groups with a ukulele in their acts will be looking for members. There will also be workshops for drums and ukuleles and a jam tent where ukuleles are welcome.
